Hong Kong Construction Association

The Hong Kong Construction Association, Limited (HKCA) was established in 1920 aimed at improving the construction industry’s standard in Hong Kong. Members of HKCA, currently over 300, are registered construction companies in Hong Kong. The Association is the recognized and leading voice for Hong Kong main contractors and over the years established a trusted working relationship with the HKSAR Government, the Construction Industry Council (CIC), other professional institutions and labour unions. The views of HKCA are being solicited in the formulation of legislation and policies related to the construction industry; and we will ensure that Members’ needs on industrial, contractual and technical matters are well looked after.

HKCA is a member of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations (IFAWPCA) representing Hong Kong. The Federation composed of representation from total 19 neighbouring nations/areas.

Hong Kong Construction Materials Association (HKCMA) was established in 1999 and founded by a batch of professionals in the industry at the beginning. Being a non-profit making professional body serving the Construction Material industry through its wealth of knowledge and expertise. HKCMA’s membership base currently comprises member companies engaged in diverse core building products encompassing cement, aggregate, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, river sand, rebar and precast concrete etc. Our member companies include publicly listed companies, global leaders and SMEs.

Hong Kong Construction Sub-Contractors Association

The purpose of the Subcontractors Association is to unite the strength of the construction industry to enhance its representatives and acceptability. We committed to become a bridge to make better communication in the construction industry; to receive and share updated information for this important industry and members .At the same time we represent our industry for provide idea or comments on our Government’s implementation planning or policy planning .

Our Subcontractors Association continuously contacts the various building subcontractors to encourage and assist them to organize their own industry association.. This is a very good conducive to the development of their industries. Secondly, it can enhance their representatives and acceptability on their subcontracting sector.
After years of our hard working, the number of our subcontractors’ associations members has been from four since the initial creation increased to fourteen.

Hong Kong Electrical Contractors Association

The Hong Kong Electrical Contractors' Association (HKECA) was incorporated in 1976. We have over 900 members, including electrical & electronic contractors, electrical & electronic products suppliers, and individual members who work in the field. With our vast membership base, we are the organization that can most represent the Electrical Contracting Industry in Hong Kong.

The operation of the Association is managed by the Executive Committee Members, who volunteered their time for the good of the Association. The Executive Committee provides various services and assistance to members, including training and dissemination of the industry's latest news.

Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling

“THE HONG KONG INSTITUTE OF BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING”, HKIBIM (香港建築信息模擬學會) was established in Jan 2009.
The objects of the Institute are:

1. To uphold and advance the standard of competence for the profession and to promote the interests and recognition of its members within the industry and community;

2. The Institute works on the behalf of its members:
- To promote and advance the general education, understanding, appreciation and interest of and in building information modelling management;
- To foster general awareness, understanding and concerted efforts in the community towards the advancement of the Objects and the issues thereof;
- To establish and advance standards of building information management practice in the industry;
- To establish links with relevant institutes of tertiary education, Government Bureaus/Departments, Statutory bodies and other organizations;
- To research, facilitate and promote the means of better management of building information for improving communication, co-ordination, management, productivity, delivery time, cost, and quality throughout the whole building life cycle;
- To provide guidance on careers in building information management profession.

Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation

Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation (HKIHT) was formally established by the Founding President the late Mr. H. S. Kwong in 1999. HKIHT has since then become a learned society comprising professional practitioners, academics and subject matter experts from highway engineering and transportation fields in Hong Kong S.A.R.

Through organizing regular technical conferences, delegations and construction site visits, the Institution plays an advisory role in public engagement of major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong. With the Institute’s strong network of fellow organizations in Mainland China and Macao S.A.R., the Institution also facilitates cross regional collaboration connecting professionals with similar interests and aspirations.

Hong Kong Licensed Plumbing Professionals Association

Hong Kong Licensed Plumbing Professionals Association was established to promote the legal benefits of the Hong Kong Licensed Plumbers and in the various water works. Water safety is crucial for the health of the general public. It is necessary to strengthen the promotion of water management and its status, and then, in time, to visit and exchange technologies around the country. And, to develop social services, adhering to the Water Service Department and the Buildings Department, in order to fulfil their regulations and requirements in water works, which helps freshmen and creates more employment opportunities for the society.
